Happy World Kindness Day!
I am so excited for today! Today is Emma’s Seeds of Kindness’ two year anniversary! I am so glad that I started my Facebook page! We have done so many wonderful things in just two years. I want to thank you ALL for supporting all of my projects. I wouldn’t be where I am if it weren’t for you all. We have given a child a personalized wheelchair, we have donated over $50 in gift cards and 300+ toys and clothes to Metropolitan Ministries, we collect tabs for Shriners Hospital for Children, we donated blankets to Children Home Network, we had a fundraiser in honor of Patty Lee Book, my “Show Me Your Trash!” project, and we have done so much more. It’s not just the food, money, clothing, and time that I’m so grateful for, it’s the fact that we are trying for a better world full of kindness. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for sharing my posts, because that spreads kindness. And thank you for spreading kindness.

To have possibilities and to have dreams, you have to have ambition.
You have to want what you are going after. One might say, "Do whatever it takes." Personally, I've never liked that saying. I know it is important that you have to be willing to do "whatever it takes" but when you say that I think that means you are willing to lose what you have. For instance family, coworkers, and friends, I wouldn't want to do something bad to one of my coworkers or burn bridges because that can effect you for the rest of your life. You must go through life with kindness. I know you are probably thinking that all I talk about is kindness, but it is one of the most important things in life. If I knew two people, one that was always complaining, being rude, thinking they are better then everyone, etc. and someone who is always trying their best even if their best isn't "the best", always with a smile, being kind, etc. and if someone asked my opinion of who is the better person for a job, I would recommend the second person. I would recommend the person who is kind, now you might think "Oh you would do that to make yourself look good." that's not why I would choose that person. It would because I know that the kind person would try hard and would make an effort. The first person might try hard at their job but you can't tell when they are complaining or being rude. You are known not only by your words but your actions. You want to be the kind person in the room. You want to be the person who is trying hard and the person who make people feel welcome. When you are kind there are possibilities. Not just job possibilities but life possibilities. The world is so big with so many possibilities, but yet the world is small. It's amazing how we are all connected. From the tiniest sea creature to the biggest land animal, we are connected. We can make a difference to help our world in so many ways, just being kind to someone makes a difference. That person who you didn't know might have been discouraged and sad, maybe just giving a smile made them get back up and find the answer to their problem.
Never give up hope. Never say you can't. If you give up hope what is there left? If you aren't hopeful what is there to dream about? We are all connected, your hopes and dreams can make a difference in our world. Make a difference and be the light in someone's dark days. And remember to always be kind, one day whether that is next year or fifty years from now the seeds you planted will be hopeful, beautiful plants. Do you give thanks daily? It can be hard to give thanks when times are hard, but it's necessary. We have to try to see the good in everything.
This is one of my favorite quotes, "Every day might not be good, but there is something good in every day." We feel better when when we give thanks, we feel better when we start to realize there is good in the world. People like to point out all the negative and bad things that happen, but we don't do enough of pointing out the good that is happening. It may be a little harder to find but it's there. Give thanks, be kind, and realize there is good, and maybe you are a reason there is good. |
